“Vigna del Capannino” (Capannino vineyard) is on a hillside, facing south, at an altitude between 290 and 300 meters. The soil is hard and rich in Alberese and Galestro. This superb wine comes from one of the best vines of the Bibbiano estate, from which it takes its name. “Vigna del Capannino” consists mainly of a special and old “Sangiovese Grosso di Toscana” and a small percentage of “Canaiolo” grapes, carefully selected at harvest to produce a limited quantity of very high quality wine.
Fermentation, carefully controlled in temperature and time, plus ageing in Slavonia oak barrels for 15 months, in barriques of Allier and Nevers for 6 months and an additional 4 months in the bottle, produces a wine with an intense ruby colour, an aroma of ripe fruit, violet, a full tasty flavour and the right amount of tannin.
